So Something Amazing Happened This Morning...

MashaAllah, this is by far one of the most amazing things I have ever witnessed in more than 20 years of working in the community. I arrived at the office early Monday morning and while checking the ICNA Relief Massachusetts mail, I noticed three envelopes each from MCI Framingham. I immediately knew these envelopes were from a women’s prison but could not figure out who would be writing to ICNA Relief MA from there, let alone three separate prisoners.

When I opened the envelopes there was a check in each with a memo stating "charity." These women, these three prisoners, who have very little of their own, each gave to ICNA Relief from what they have MashaAllah. Imagine; you are in prison, you receive pennies a day for the work that you do yet you still seek the blessings of Allah during the month of Ramadan by giving to others. SubhanAllah.

This shows the true beauty of Islam. These women who may have come to Islam in prison are seeking Allah’s blessing by caring for others through donating the little they have. May Allah reward them and provide them with peace of mind – Ameen.
